Welcome to Del Mar
A private, coastal oasis of luxury and beautiful beaches
Luxurious and tranquil, Del Mar is a stunning coastal village known for near-perfect weather and world-famous attractions, like the Del Mar Racetrack and Fairgrounds. A coveted destination for Hollywood stars in the 1930s, Del Mar maintains an air of that breezy Golden Age glamour, with outstanding culinary spots, shopping, picturesque beaches, and innovative architecture. There’s even a reference to this iconic town in the Beach Boys’ tune “Surfin’ USA.”
Spanish for "of the sea" or "by the sea," Del Mar is protective of its idyllic oceanside setting and the community keeps development at a minimum. One of the only true village atmospheres in the San Diego area, Del Mar offers an easy, luxurious vibe reminiscent of vintage California, while also within easy distance of both La Jolla and downtown San Diego. With Tudor styles and historic cottages, Del Mar simultaneously evokes and satisfies a sense of nostalgia.
